The project my daughters did with me!

Here's something I'm rather proud of. . . I have raised two successful babysitters. When they were starting out babysitting, I was as nervous as they were! What if something happens? Will they have to cook? What if the kids are hard to handle? I went over instructions with them right until they walked out the door. I canceled my plans and stayed home in case they called for help. When they got home, I'd want all the details and then go over what to do for next time. They got better and better with each job and my nerves calmed down when I realized they were great babysitters who knew how to keep kids safe AND have fun with them at the same time. Hearing from friends and neighbors what awesome babysitters my daughters are made me so proud!   But now they are getting older and getting different jobs, and spending more weekend nights with friends rather than babysitting, they're ready to pass the torch on to younger babysitters. We had the idea to put together a guide/kit ...

Seattle Summer Vacation

Last weekend we went to Seattle to spend some time with my family. In this slideshow, you'll see my mom and dad, two of my sisters (Shannon and Missy) and their boys. You'll also see Edmonds Beach, a Mariners vs. Red Sox game, Trophy Cupcakes, a Pirate Party treasure hunt, a couple of Mike and Lu and then even some of me. . . Oh, and something that Seattlites don't want you to know about, FANTASTIC WEATHER. It happens, and when it does, there is nowhere else in the world you'd rather be. . .

Love it! I wish I had made a trip to Seattle this summer. Your family looks great. I bet Jenn was sad to miss this. That youngest boy of Shannon's is edible. My kids had so much fun playing with them at your parents. Too bad we don't all live closer.

Love the scooter ride...I don't dare touch one of those...inevitably it will end with a crash and some blood...Looks like fun though!

Response: Kim, holy cow yes. In the Unofficial Cupcake Taste Test I've been conducting all over the nation in the last couple years, these have been by far my favorites!

Man, what a BLAST we all had! And those pics you took are AWESOME! And I love seeing you in some of those pics finally! I also took some fun ones that I'll be sending out shortly : )
You know what is so annoying about people like you? You've got it all! The looks, the brains, you're a fantastic artist and a great photographer, and pretty much you're the nicest person I know. And you have the cutest daughter in the world (don't tell anyone I said that, they'd be jealous.)
Looks like Seattle was a blast! Glad you're back. I expect some killer BBQ's on the way.
