The project my daughters did with me!

Here's something I'm rather proud of. . . I have raised two successful babysitters. When they were starting out babysitting, I was as nervous as they were! What if something happens? Will they have to cook? What if the kids are hard to handle? I went over instructions with them right until they walked out the door. I canceled my plans and stayed home in case they called for help. When they got home, I'd want all the details and then go over what to do for next time. They got better and better with each job and my nerves calmed down when I realized they were great babysitters who knew how to keep kids safe AND have fun with them at the same time. Hearing from friends and neighbors what awesome babysitters my daughters are made me so proud!   But now they are getting older and getting different jobs, and spending more weekend nights with friends rather than babysitting, they're ready to pass the torch on to younger babysitters. week 1: lots of cuddle time



This is when Lucy and Gramma Leen came to see us in the hospital that first day. . . can you tell somebody likes her little sis?

It's no wonder at dinner the other night, Lucy looked out the front window and said, "That cloud looks like a daddy holding his baby. . ."

We're loving cuddle time.

PRECIOUS! There's nothing like that first week home with a newborn...she is beautiful!! Seriously, BEAUTIFUL! =) You'll be able to braid her hair by 6 months! =)

Congrats Juliann! So excited for you! She is beautiful. My little one is 6 weeks old now, and we are absolutely loving every moment. Every little snuggle and cuddle, he must get kissed 100 times a day at least. So happy for you!

hospital buddies

Remember Lucy's hospital doll she named Birdie ? Well, we had a service project with the children's group at church a couple weeks ago and made a bunch of dolls just like Birdie to donate to Primary Children's Medical Center. They will go to future patients there and hopefully bring the same amount of love and comfort Birdie brought to Lucy. At our activity, we had 12 kids who stuffed, stitched, hemmed and dressed a total of 34 dolls! Patterns for dolls and robes can be found here: Doll A , Doll B , Robe A , Robe B . Download all four.
