Graduation and Teacher Gift Printables - End of the School Year Goodies!

 Here it is, Maycember! Once the month of May starts it quickly snowballs into a continuous stream of concerts, recitals, final games, awards ceremonies, graduations and parties! It's almost too much, and yet, how could it be too much? This is it! This is what it's all for! All the hard work of going to school and taking the tests and practicing the piece and dreaming of the celebration, this is the culmination of all that effort!  Over of the years, as I've prepared teachers' gifts and graduation cards to use, I've saved the printable files to use again in the future or make available for others as well.  Here are some of my favorites: I like these green flowers and the Pink & White cookies at Trader Joe's. I thought they made a nice little bundle for either Teacher Appreciation week or a thank you at the end of the year (if you can keep the cookies around long enough!) action

Sometimes when the sun is bright and the kids are on the move, I like to put my camera on the action or sports setting and just click away. I never know what I'm going to get till I review them later. . .






P.S. Anyone know how to get rid of a binkie? It's time.

Someone I know said they just "hid it" and told the kid they could have it when they found it but eventually they just gave up.

Tie it to a helium ballon and send it away to the faries.
Swap it at Christmas with a present from Santa - this works for birthdays too!
A friend of mine slowly started cutting away at the sucky bit until there was nothing left to suck on and her son would just laugh when it fell out of his mouth.

With E and T we traded it for a red trike and princess scooter. Worked pretty well, although T sometimes said she wanted to trade the scooter back; shocking since she was quite in love with it. :)

I snipped off the top of Hazel's binky and told her it was broken. I cried (and cried and cried and sobbed) and my tears far outlasted hers... something about babies growing up just gets me! :)

I kid you not, but each time it was "time," whichever kid's it was had misplaced it. This made it easy to say "it's lost" because it was the truth. Of course I'd find it in a day or 2, but then I'd throw it out. When asked about it all I'd say was "remember that it got lost?" It only took 3-5 days for them to adjust to the new normal without it. GOOD LUCK!

hospital buddies

Remember Lucy's hospital doll she named Birdie ? Well, we had a service project with the children's group at church a couple weeks ago and made a bunch of dolls just like Birdie to donate to Primary Children's Medical Center. They will go to future patients there and hopefully bring the same amount of love and comfort Birdie brought to Lucy. At our activity, we had 12 kids who stuffed, stitched, hemmed and dressed a total of 34 dolls! Patterns for dolls and robes can be found here: Doll A , Doll B , Robe A , Robe B . Download all four.

. . . they'd tell fantastic stories of medieval court life and dragons and castles! I just saw these fantastic shadow puppets at Kate's Paperie but of course they are sold out! Wouldn't it be fun to make some though? Lucy's into pirates these days. . . I could design a set of pirate shadow puppets. . . add that to the list of projects I would love to do but probably never will. Seriously.
