Let's peel back these layers!

Image
juliannlaw Here is a closeup of the endpapers in my debut picture book, THE WORKD’S LONGEST SOCK. I work digitally in Adobe Photoshop but the program doesn’t do it all for me! I knit all the pixels by hand! Haha! I do have things I do to help me work quickly and efficiently, though, like using layers. Here you get to see me take off those layers one by one till we are back at nothing but a background. The World's Longest Sock is now available on  Amazon ,  Barnes and Noble ,  Target , or wherever you  buy books !

The good news is. . .

. . . that some yard work takes very little work. I guess that's one of the benefits of an old home with an old garden, some things just bloom and grow out of habit. . . or thanks to someone else's years of hard work. Or maybe I can just be grateful that Mother Nature is a better gardener than I am.

The other good news, is that for the part that does take work, I found that "neighbor kid with a lawn mower" that I'd been searching for. . . two of them, actually, and they're coming back till we get a lawn mower of our own. What a relief!

Juliann,

My mom was so cute today. I was showing her your kitchen redo (which she also loved). Anyway, she clicked on your portfolio and was amazed by your talent. She thinks you "should be famous" (said in her South Africa accent). I told her you are... ;)

Love the pictures and the yard. Nice work! I need to come by. Can't wait to see it all in person.

It's the SECRET GARDEN! I love it! It looks like the perfect place to relax and read a good book(as if anyone has time for that these days).
